Job Description
The Sterling Apprenticeship Program is a purpose-driven initiative under the “Grow with Sterling” banner. It offers selected participants a unique chance to gain quality education through partner institutions while working at Sterling Bank. This integrated model of learning and working ensures that apprentices acquire both academic qualifications and on-the-job training, setting them on a path to long-term career success. Apprentices receive tuition support, a monthly stipend, and ongoing mentorship from banking professionals. High-performing participants stand a strong chance of being offered permanent employment within the bank.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Attend academic sessions at a partner educational institution.
Engage in structured work placements within Sterling Bank.
Apply classroom learning in practical workplace settings.
Develop critical soft and technical skills required in the banking industry.
Receive mentorship and coaching from experienced banking professionals.
Participate in assessments and feedback sessions to monitor growth.
Exhibit professionalism, commitment, and a willingness to learn.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Must currently be enrolled in a university or possess an OND certificate.
Must have a valid O’level result (WAEC, NECO, GCE, NABTEB) with required subjects.
Must be at least 18 years old at the time of application (OND graduates can apply up to age 21).
Must demonstrate a willingness to learn, adapt, and contribute positively.
Good communication, teamwork, and critical thinking skills are an advantage.
