Job Description
The Social Media Correspondence and Writing Assistant will manage high-volume correspondence across TeachKind’s and PETA Kids’ social media platforms, providing thoughtful, animal rights-focused responses to educators, parents, and other followers. The role includes drafting blogs, activities, rescue stories, and quizzes for educational platforms such as TPT (Teachers Pay Teachers), Kahoot, and TeachKind.org. The assistant will also participate in team brainstorming, research trends in education and teaching technologies, and help track and analyze performance on various platforms. Photo rights management and maintaining archives of media assets are also key responsibilities. This role requires excellent writing, research, and organizational skills, as well as alignment with PETA’s values and mission.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Respond to comments and direct messages across Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Threads, and other social media
Draft content for blogs, classroom activities, rescue stories, and quizzes for TeachKind.org, TPT, and Kahoot
Track performance metrics for content on TPT and Kahoot
Maintain archives and ensure permission for images used in social media posts
Participate in brainstorming meetings with the social media team
Conduct research on new teaching technologies and educational trends
Handle multiple writing and communication tasks efficiently
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Some office experience; background in education or working with children preferred
Excellent knowledge of social media platforms and internet communication
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Strong writing and content development skills
Previous experience in social media correspondence or professional writing is a plus
Self-motivated, independent worker with strong teamwork skills
Deep knowledge of and alignment with PETA’s mission and animal rights philosophy
Ability to prioritize, multitask, and meet tight deadlines
Commitment to a vegan lifestyle and advocacy for animal rights
