Job Description
The Silviculture Manager will be responsible for managing reforestation project sections, ensuring operational excellence, infrastructure development, and community relations. This includes plantation layout planning, quality control, managing labor infrastructure, and aligning operations with environmental and safety standards. The role also involves significant administrative duties and field data management, as well as coordination with community stakeholders and ensuring the conservation of biodiversity.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Plan plantation layouts, road designs, and labor housing.
Ensure quality control across all plantation operations.
Design and implement infrastructure projects (e.g., labor camps, security facilities).
Manage maintenance staff including training and reporting.
Oversee forest fire management and security response systems.
Contribute to and implement forest management and operational plans.
Manage logistics, procurement, and field data reporting.
Coordinate with the Environmental Health and Safety & Community Liaison Officer.
Engage with local communities and enforce conservation standards.

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Bachelor’s Degree in Forestry or related field (Master’s preferred).
Minimum of 10 years in the forestry sector with leadership experience.
In-depth knowledge of the Forestry Commission Act, health and safety laws, and sustainability practices.
Strong planning, project management, and organizational skills.
Leadership and mentoring capabilities.
Defensive driving skills suitable for forest terrain.
Excellent communication in English and Twi.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to engage local communities.
