Job Description
Job Title: Shift Mechanical Artisan
Location: Hariss International Limited – Kampala, Uganda
Department: Maintenance
Reports To: Maintenance Controller
Job Purpose
The Shift Mechanical Artisan is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of production machinery and plant equipment. This role ensures smooth and continuous production by performing both scheduled preventive maintenance and emergency repairs.

How to Apply
Perform installation and maintenance tasks for production machinery and plant equipment.
Conduct emergency repairs during production and scheduled maintenance during machine service periods.
Carry out basic machinist duties as required.
Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems on production machines.
Read and interpret equipment manuals, blueprints, and work orders to execute maintenance tasks accurately.
Diagnose faults, replace or repair parts, test machinery, and make necessary adjustments.
Perform routine preventive maintenance on machinery, equipment, and plant facilities.
Execute plumbing and carpentry maintenance tasks as needed.
Operate hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
Identify and report faulty operations, defective materials, and unusual situations to supervisors promptly.
Receive and assess work orders to determine required parts, equipment, and services for maintenance.
Adhere strictly to safety regulations and maintain clean, organized work areas.
Perform any other duties assigned by management.
Education & Experience
Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
Knowledge of boilers, pipe fitting, and welding is essential.
Minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar role within a fast-paced environment.
Prior experience in general maintenance, plumbing, or HVAC is advantageous.
