Job Description
The Senior Relationship Manager will own a portfolio of institutional clients, deliver tailored multi-product solutions through clear account plans, and coordinate with product, credit, service, and operations teams for seamless delivery. The role prospectively builds a pipeline, prepares quality credit applications, manages asset and liability growth at prudent pricing, mines customer data for opportunities, and ensures exceptional onboarding and service. It embeds full compliance (KYC/AML, consumer protection), maintains high asset quality, and provides regular performance reporting and portfolio reviews.

How to Apply
Manage and deepen relationships via regular client visits; address banking needs promptly.
Develop and execute account plans with Product and internal partners; capitalize on NMB’s network and balance sheet.
Build a target pipeline; acquire new profitable institutional customers; drive cross-sell (ecosystem banking across Corporate, Business, and Retail).
Prepare/assess credit applications; ensure prudent pricing and sustainable portfolio returns.
Ensure industry-leading onboarding, service quality, and advisory support.
Liaise proactively between clients, service delivery, back office, and credit.
Mine/analyze client data to identify expansion opportunities; maintain a client-calling schedule.
Monitor full regulatory compliance (KYC/CSA), and address root causes of issues raised.
Maintain asset quality in line with risk appetite; manage liabilities & loan book performance.
Keep accurate records; prepare high-quality credit applications for CREDCO submission.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Banking, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field; Master’s and/or banking certifications are an added advantage.
Experience: Minimum 4 years in Relationship Management with donor/investor-funded projects, Government, and other public-sector institutional clients.
Knowledge & Skills:
General banking practices, policies, procedures, and regulatory environment.
Sector knowledge and risk profiles; competitor landscape and market dynamics.
Strong product knowledge; ability to structure multi-product institutional solutions.
Financial analysis (complex consolidated financials, ratios); strong numeracy.
Customer relationship management; persuasive selling and negotiation.
Fluent English & Swahili; proficient in Word/Excel/PowerPoint.
High standards of ethics; adherence to NMB values and code of conduct.
