Job Description
Reporting to the Group Head of TakealotMORE, the Senior Marketing Manager will oversee the design and execution of promotional strategies for TakealotMORE. This includes managing the promotional calendar, coordinating campaigns across digital and traditional channels, and collaborating with internal teams, partner brands, and external stakeholders. The role requires developing a deep understanding of customer segments to craft impactful campaigns, managing feature launches, and creating educational content to support product differentiation. The candidate will also be responsible for sourcing partnerships, cross-selling opportunities with MrD, and ensuring measurable results through campaign performance reporting. The position is ideal for a strategic thinker with strong retail marketing expertise, exceptional relationship-building skills, and the ability to deliver impactful marketing outcomes in an e-commerce environment.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Conceptualise, implement, and manage ongoing promotional campaigns to drive adoption and retention for TakealotMORE.
Own, update, and maintain the promotional calendar.
Collaborate with the Product team, Merchandising team, and partner brands to align campaigns with strategic objectives.
Develop in-depth knowledge of customer segments to craft meaningful strategies.
Drive new feature launches and create content to educate users on product features.
Source and manage partnership opportunities with major brands.
Coordinate with brand, social media, and performance media teams on joint campaigns, influencer partnerships, and CRM strategies.
Work with MrD marketing representatives to cross-sell and grow new customer bases.
Track and report daily, weekly, and monthly campaign performance.
Ensure strong alignment with Takealot and MrD overarching marketing strategies.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or Communications.
Minimum 5 years’ experience in retail and marketing.
Proven experience across multiple marketing channels: digital, ATL, and partnerships.
Track record of delivering successful marketing projects and campaigns.
Experience engaging with C-level executives.
Knowledge of loyalty programmes or subscription models is advantageous.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to create data-driven marketing strategies.
Deep understanding of e-commerce and sales drivers.
Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills with partner brands.
Highly driven, innovative, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
