Job Description
This role oversees the strategic planning, organization, and leadership of security monitoring activities and incident response mechanisms. The Senior Manager will be accountable for developing and implementing security monitoring strategies, overseeing security testing engagements, ensuring compliance with security governance frameworks, mentoring security teams, managing vendors, and contributing to the overall security resilience of the bank's systems.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Security Operations and Incident Response:
Implement and manage security monitoring and incident response strategies.
Establish proactive real-time security monitoring and notifications.
Oversee automation of security incident responses and collaborate on security incident investigations.
Develop actionable dashboards for management and technical teams.
Red Team Operations and Security Testing:
Review and implement the bank's security testing strategy.
Plan and supervise all security testing engagements across systems.
Execute emergency security tests on discovered vulnerabilities.
Conduct adversary simulation exercises.
Maintain a repository of security testing tactics and collaborate with vendors and internal teams.
Security Governance and Compliance:
Develop, implement, and maintain security policies, procedures, and standards.
Research and recommend best practices in security monitoring and incident response.
Ensure compliance with standards like ISO 27001, PCI DSS/PIN, and others.
Leadership and Vendor Management:
Lead, mentor, and manage a team of security professionals.
Manage relationships with external security vendors and ensure effective procurement and implementation of security tools.

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related academic field.
Professional certifications preferred: OSCP, CEH, CISM, CISA, CISSP, or other relevant cybersecurity certifications.
Minimum 5 years of experience in Cybersecurity roles.
Solid hands-on experience with penetration testing and enterprise security tools, including SIEM and SOAR technologies.
Strong experience in security event detection and troubleshooting.
Deep understanding of operating systems (Windows, Linux, Unix) and middleware security.
Knowledge of security governance frameworks like ISO/IEC 27001, NIST CSF, and PCI standards.
Strong leadership, interpersonal, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
Excellent communication skills in English and Swahili.
High integrity, credibility, and trustworthiness.
