Job Description
Reporting to the Head of Transaction Banking, the Senior Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing product strategies for trade finance and working capital management. The position combines leadership, product innovation, and business development functions.
The incumbent will serve as the product champion for trade solutions including letters of credit, guarantees, supply chain finance, invoice discounting, and related products. They will analyze market trends, identify business opportunities, and drive collaboration across teams to deliver tailored solutions that meet client needs.
This role also involves ensuring compliance, risk management, and achievement of financial and market share targets, contributing directly to the bank’s growth strategy in Tanzania and key African trade corridors.

A. Product Strategy and Management
Develop and implement strategies for trade finance and working capital products.
Continuously review market trends, customer needs, and competitor offerings to maintain market leadership.
Oversee product lifecycle management—from conceptualization to delivery and review.
Ensure alignment of product strategies with the overall CIB and Transaction Banking goals.
Manage product pricing, profitability, and risk exposure.
B. Business Development and Growth
Drive business expansion and revenue growth through strategic product positioning.
Identify and pursue new business opportunities across trade corridors and industry sectors.
Support Relationship Managers and Sales teams in structuring complex trade finance deals.
Collaborate with internal teams to deliver innovative, client-centric financial solutions.
C. Client Relationship and Market Engagement
Build strong relationships with corporate clients and key stakeholders in trade and working capital ecosystems.
Participate in client engagements to understand pain points and provide tailored solutions.
Represent the bank at trade and finance forums, conferences, and industry events.
D. Risk, Compliance, and Operational Excellence
Ensure all products and processes comply with regulatory standards, internal controls, and governance frameworks.
Identify risks associated with trade transactions and implement mitigation strategies.
Maintain accurate documentation and ensure alignment with audit and compliance requirements.
E. Leadership and Team Development
Lead and mentor junior staff to enhance product and market knowledge.
Foster collaboration across departments, ensuring smooth execution of product initiatives.
Inspire performance excellence and accountability within the product management team.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related field (mandatory).
Master’s degree in Business Administration, Banking, or Economics (strongly preferred).
Experience:
Minimum of 8–10 years of experience in Transaction Banking, Corporate Banking, or Financial Services with a strong focus on Trade Finance and Working Capital Products.
Proven experience developing and executing product strategies that drive business growth.
Strong understanding of trade finance instruments, such as letters of credit, guarantees, and supply chain finance.
Demonstrated success in stakeholder management and cross-functional leadership.
