To provide Legal Aid services to indigent persons, petty offenders and children in need of care and protection.

Responsibilities:
To interview and counsel clients.
To prepare legal documents.
To attend to walk-in clients.
To represent clients in court.
To develop training tools for stakeholders.
To train and sensitize stakeholders of Legal Aid.
To facilitate Continuing Legal Education and street law programmes.
To provide legal advice to LDC and handle court cases involving LDC.
To supervise and report on the performance of LAC field staff and volunteers.
To perform any other duties assigned by the Assistant Director.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Education:
A Bachelor of Laws –LLB (Hon) degree.
Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Law Development Centre.
MBA or Masters in Law – LLM degree shall be an added advantage.
Additional training in project management and evaluation shall be a added advantage.
Experience: At least four (4) years’ work experience in legal aid practice in a reputable organisation dealing in the provision of legal aid services or related field.
Key Competences:
Possess supervisory and relationship management skills.
Should be creative and innovative.
He/she should be a person of high integrity.
Ability to produce quality results.
Effective communication skills.
He/she should be a team player.
Possess report writing skills.
