The duties of a Senior Lecturer in Education typically encompass a range of responsibilities related to teaching, research, administration, and community engagement

Teaching and Learning

Course Design and Delivery:

  • Develop and deliver high-quality undergraduate and postgraduate courses in education.

  • Prepare and update course materials, including syllabi, lecture notes, and reading lists.

  • Use a variety of teaching methods and technologies to enhance student learning.


Student Assessment:

  • Design and grade assessments, including exams, essays, projects, and presentations.

  • Provide timely and constructive feedback to students.

  • Ensure assessments are fair, transparent, and aligned with learning outcomes.


Student Support and Advising:

  • Offer academic advising and support to students, helping them with course selection, career planning, and academic challenges.

  • Supervise student research projects, dissertations, and theses.


Research and Scholarship

Research Activities:

  • Conduct high-quality research in the field of education, contributing to the body of knowledge in the discipline.

  • Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals, books, and conference proceedings.


Grant Applications:

  • PhD in a relevant area from a recognized Institution of higher learning.

  • A Master’s Degree in Education majoring in Education Psychology from a recognized Institution of higher learning.

  • An Honors Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education from a recognized Institution of higher learning.

  • Three (3) years of University teaching experience or relevant working experience in a reputable Organization or Industry.


  • Four (4) recognized publications in the area of specialization, two (2) of which as the First/ Corresponding/ Senior author.

  • Evidence of contribution to Community

  • Age Limit: Should not have reached fifty (50) years of age by deadline for submission of application.
