Job Description
This role requires a highly skilled JavaScript engineer with in-depth experience in jQuery, DOM manipulation, and legacy codebases. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and refactoring UI components, collaborating with product and backend teams, and optimizing frontend performance. You’ll work in a fully remote environment with high autonomy and play a key role in future modernization plans, including a gradual migration to React.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Develop and maintain UI components using a custom jQuery-based framework.
Refactor legacy code to improve performance, readability, and maintainability.
Collaborate with product managers and backend engineers to deliver user-facing features.
Troubleshoot and debug complex issues in a business-critical application.
Contribute to long-term planning and gradual migration toward React.
Own features end-to-end, from concept to deployment.

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Required:
Expert-level JavaScript skills (ES5/ES6+).
Deep experience with jQuery beyond plugins, especially in custom-built frameworks.
Ability to work independently and make strategic decisions.
Strong knowledge of frontend performance optimization and debugging.
Demonstrated success in delivering real-world features in production applications.
Preferred:
Experience migrating from legacy stacks to React.
Familiarity with build tools like Vite, Webpack, or custom pipelines.
Good eye for UX and clean UI logic.
Not Suitable For:
WordPress/theme developers.
jQuery plugin assemblers without deep JavaScript knowledge.
