Job Description
Position: Senior Financial and Tax Supervisor

Location: Kampala, Uganda
About the Role
Avanti Energy Services Limited is looking for a highly skilled Senior Financial and Tax Supervisor to support our finance operations and ensure full compliance with Uganda’s evolving tax landscape. In this pivotal role, you’ll assist the Chief Officer in tax strategy and compliance, oversee audits and tax inspections, and play a key role in shaping internal tax knowledge and capacity.
This position is ideal for a finance professional with deep expertise in taxation, especially within the oil, gas, or mining sectors, and a strong understanding of Uganda’s fiscal and regulatory frameworks.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Support the Chief Officer with strategic tax planning and compliance management.
Lead and manage tax audits, inspections, and resolution of tax disputes.
Monitor and analyze tax reforms and policy changes in Uganda’s financial and energy sectors.
Coordinate with external auditors and accounting firms during annual audits.
Mentor and train junior finance and tax team members, fostering professional growth.

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Taxation. CPA certification or certified tax agent credentials are highly preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of 4 years’ experience in finance and taxation.
At least 3 years in the oil, gas, or mining industry.
Background with a Big Four accounting firm is a strong advantage.
