Job Description

The role involves coordinating and organizing credit administration meetings, managing documentation and record-keeping, facilitating communications between credit administration team members and other departments, tracking action items for follow-up, and ensuring compliance with all internal and external regulatory requirements. The officer will also be responsible for continuous improvement of processes, maintaining updated terms of reference for credit committees, and participating in credit-related projects and system improvements.

Duties, Roles and Responsibilities

  • Schedule and organize credit administration meetings, set agendas, and distribute materials in advance.

  • Ensure availability and functionality of meeting resources (e.g., rooms, technology).

  • Take detailed minutes during meetings, prepare, distribute, and file them for safe custody.

  • Serve as the main point of contact for meeting-related inquiries and communication.

  • Track and follow up on assigned action items, providing regular updates.

  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulatory requirements.

  • Support report and presentation preparation for management reviews.

  • Maintain up-to-date Terms of Reference (TORs) for Credit Committees.

  • Manage renewals of various contracts related to credit administration (e.g., Valuers, Collateral Managers).

  • Monitor and maintain files of prevailing and new prudential guidelines from the Bank of Tanzania.

  • Participate in projects related to credit administration tools and systems development.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Head/Senior Managers of Credit Administration.

Qualifications, Education and Competencies

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.

  • Additional certifications in legal or credit risk management are an advantage.

  • At least 5 years of banking experience in credit secretarial/governance roles, credit analysis, and credit management.

  • Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and meeting management software.

  • High attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Familiarity with lending procedures, compliance, and credit risk management processes.
