National Insurance Corporation (now NIC Holdings Limited) was established in 1964 as a wholly owned Government parastatal and the leading provider of insurance and financial services in Uganda.
In 2005, NIC was privatized with the continental insurance giant, Industrial and General Insurance Plc (IGI) acquiring majority (60%) stake through its special purpose vehicle, Corporate Holdings Limited.
On 25th March 2010, NIC was listed on the Uganda Securities Exchange becoming the first (and only) Uganda registered insurance company to be listed on the USE.
In 2014, pursuant to the Insurance (Amendment) Act, NIC was restructured and re-branded into and insurance group with a holding company and two virile wholly owned insurance subsidiaries, NIC General Insurance Company Limited and NIC Life Assurance Company Limited.

How to Apply
Responsibilities:
Enforce and implement laws and company policies.
Implement and maintain safety protocols and measures.
Monitor security systems, including surveillance cameras, alarms and access control systems.
Respond promptly to security breaches alarms and other emergencies.
Conduct regular patrols of the buildings and ensure only authorized personnel have access to restricted areas.
Prepare and submit monthly reports, including details of security breaches, incidents, suspicious activities and surveillance findings.
Supervise the performance of the external security firm.
Oversee and manage attendance registers.
Verify and record the exit of tenants.
Report complex cases to the police and follow up on their progress.
Report incidents of theft, burglary, vandalism and other criminal activities.
Secure all exits, doors and windows after operations close for the day.
Handover the day`s activities and office keys to the next shift in charge before signing off.
Ensure security lights are switched on by 7p.m and turned off by 6 a.m.
Any other related duties that maybe assigned.
Qualifications:
A minimum of Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education or holder or equivalent.
At least five years of experience in the same role.
Clearance or certificate of good conduct from Interpol Uganda police.
Demonstrate good communication skills.
Report writing skills.
Analytical skills.
Basic knowledge of computer skills in Microsoft office.
Good interpersonal skills.
Proven experience with leading Teams.
Emotional intelligence.
Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
Ability to work independently and carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines and standard accepted practices.
