Duties and Responsibilities
Administering first aid and care of learners until they are able to return to lessons or are passed into the hands of a parent, guardian, doctor, hospital etc.
Advising girls and staff on medical issues and girls’/adolescent physical health and emotional wellbeing.
Care for sick boarding learners in conjunction with the boarding team
Being available to staff leading school trips to offer advice and to provide First Aid in case any things happens;
Be available to administer first aid during sporting afternoons and events
Ensuring First Aid kits around school are monitored and are restocked, and supplying First Aids Kits for trips.
Providing basic First Aid knowledge to staff at start of academic year and informing staff of procedures if faced with medical emergency such as the more serious medical conditions they may encounter.
Making contact with parents as appropriate, ensuring that thorough records about learners’ health related information are maintained.
Attend health related meetings to increase her awareness.
Ensuring that all medical and personal information remain confidential.
Be involved in health education of the girls and, at times, help them in discussing medical or emotional issues.
Managing discipline of students while in the dormitory
Aiding learners to leave the dormitories in time for classes
Keep the Head teacher in loop on specific issues of concern relating to individual students
To ensure nursing validation, relevant qualifications and training are up to date to meet the government requirements.
To have the ability to prioritize and manage situations under pressure
You need to love working with young people
Be an excellent listener and communicator, calm under pressure

Experience/ Qualifications:
Registered nurse or emergency care practitioner
Experience of working with children is desirable but not essential
Working knowledge of the local language is desirable but not essential
Responsive to the needs of a dynamic student population
Good leadership and mentorship skills

Set a good example in terms of dress, punctuality and attendance
Uphold the school's behavior code
Participate in staff training as required
Attend meetings as required
