Job Description
The Safety Manager designs, implements, and continuously improves the Safety Management System in line with Ghanaian OHS laws and international HSE standards. The role conducts risk assessments, inspections and audits; leads incident investigations and corrective/preventive actions; manages safety equipment procurement and maintenance; and prepares regular performance reports for leadership. The incumbent partners with functional heads to embed safety into daily operations and long-term plans, acts as primary liaison with regulators, and champions employee engagement and training to build a safety-first culture.

How to Apply
Develop, implement, and improve safety systems, procedures, and SOPs.
Lead HSE training, drills, and emergency preparedness programmes.
Conduct risk assessments, inspections, and safety audits; track actions to closure.
Investigate incidents/accidents; determine root causes; implement CAPAs.
Ensure compliance with Ghanaian OHS legislation and applicable international standards.
Manage specification, procurement, inspection, and upkeep of PPE and safety equipment.
Analyse HSE performance trends; submit periodic reports and recommendations to management.
Integrate HSE into operational planning with department heads; support change management.
Serve as the primary contact for regulatory authorities; ensure timely reporting and documentation.
Promote employee participation and recognition in safety initiatives.
Education: Master’s in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering or related field.
Certification: NEBOSH IGC (or equivalent) required.
Experience: 8+ years safety management experience (manufacturing/industrial preferred).
Technical: Strong risk management, hazard identification, audit and compliance reporting; incident investigation & root-cause analysis.
Soft skills: Excellent leadership, communication, training, influencing and problem-solving abilities; ability to engage all levels of the organisation.
