Luigi Giussani Foundation (LGF) is an indigenous for impact organisation that has for the last 17 years been responding to educational challenges in Uganda through research and capacity building.
On behalf of Plan International Uganda, LGF is currently carrying out an endline study for the LEGO Foundation Playful Futures project and is, therefore, seeking to recruit Research Assistants in the districts of Kamuli, Buyende, Tororo, Nebbi, Alebtong and Lira on a short-term basis.
Participate in a 10-days training in designated central place
Participate in the pre-testing of study instruments and field preparation
Conduct end line data collection including surveys for children aged 3-6 years, teachers, mentors, parents and community leaders; interviews and focus group discussions
Use Kobo Collect to capture data and make accurate uploads to the online server
Perform all the necessary documentation throughout the entire exercise
Participate in reflection sessions throughout the data collection exercise
Carryout any other duty as assigned by the supervisor
A minimum level of Diploma in Education OR bachelor’s degree qualification for other courses
Fluent in English language and any one local language in the target districts
Prior research experience, especially data collection involving children and parents
Familiarity with ethical guideline for research is an added advantage
Experience in using mobile data collection applications and being comfortable with using smartphones/tablets is an added advantage
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
