The African Centre for Treatment and Rehabilitation of Torture Victims (ACTV) is a Non-Governmental organization in Uganda which commenced operations in 1993 whose mandate includes advocacy against torture and provision of physical and psychological treatment and rehabilitation, social support and legal services to survivors of torture.

Collect and analyze data to analyze the environmental conditions of survivors of torture
Foster research on all aspects of pain resulting from torture.
Use and develop a range of equations to assist in data gathering and analysis.
Conduct research in line with ACTV needs including conducting field research, data collection, validation, analysis and cleaning and preparation of a report.
Prepare and conduct research on torture trends and vulnerable persons.
Lead the implementation of research activities within the ACTV, in collaboration with external research and implementation partners.
Conduct comprehensive and accurate review of project documents; project briefs, project completion.
Prepare reports of findings.
Generate reports on potential areas of program implementation.
Carry out research, collect data on the program impact of ACTV and prepare reports for the Manager.
Manage the processing and storage of records and documents; ensure accurate recording and uncomplicated access.
Design and implement an effective system of accessing and retrieving records
Ensure a proper storage mechanism of all records and documents
Provide an efficient and effective method of accurate record keeping.
Ensure safe custody of both current & non-current soft & hard copy records in line with the records/archives policy; and implementation of the electronic document management system.
Measure the effectiveness of projects undertaken by ACTV.
Support preparation of projects in line with ACTV’s objectives and strategic priorities.
Test new projects during development and provide feedback on possible acceptability

The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Psychology, Human Rights, Health, Research or any other relevant field.
At least three years of relevant work experience in an NGO.
