Job Description
The Registered Nurse – Trauma will be responsible for delivering holistic and patient-centered care in the Trauma Unit. The role requires adherence to nursing protocols and standards as set by the South African Nursing Council, Department of Health, and the hospital’s internal policies. The nurse will supervise junior staff, participate in internal and external audits, and contribute to customized patient care planning. The role includes documentation, ward rounds, and ensuring safety, quality, and compliance in patient care delivery.

How to Apply
Provide nursing care in compliance with SANC, DOH, and National Core Standards
Promote patient advocacy in line with SANC Acts, patient rights, and ethical codes
Supervise and ensure high-quality care delivery from self and the team
Participate in internal and external audit processes (e.g., SHERQ, SANC audits)
Accurately document patient information and manage patient files
Conduct ward rounds and collaborate with doctors to develop care plans
Monitor unit activity and ensure safety and compliance with hospital policies
Lead the nursing team to maintain therapeutic standards and clinical goals
Nursing degree or diploma
Current registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC)
Minimum 2 years of experience in a Trauma or Casualty Unit
Valid BLS qualification (ACLS/PALS/ATLS advantageous)
Previous experience in a private hospital is advantageous
Computer literacy is an added advantage
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
