Regional Credit Administrator job at Pride Microfinance Limited (MDI)

Pride Microfinance

The Regional Credit Administrator will be based at the regional office and will be responsible for the prompt and accurate credit supervision at the region to ensure credit quality and risk management.

  • Credit Analysis and Evaluation: Conducting thorough analysis and evaluation of credit applications and creditworthiness of customers within the region. Reviewing financial statements, credit reports, and other relevant information to assess risk and make informed credit decisions.

  • Credit Policy Development: Developing and implementing credit policies, procedures, and guidelines for the region in accordance with company policies and industry standards. Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and risk management principles.

  • Credit Approval Authority: Reviewing and approving credit requests within specified authority limits. Escalating credit applications that exceed authority limits or require higher-level approval.

  • Customer Relationship Management: Building and maintaining relationships with customers, sales teams, and other stakeholders to facilitate the credit approval process. Providing guidance and support to sales teams on credit-related matters.

  • Credit Monitoring and Control: Monitoring credit exposure and portfolio performance within the region. Implementing measures to control credit risk, minimize bad debt losses, and ensure timely collection of outstanding receivables.

  • Credit Risk Assessment: Identifying and assessing credit risks associated with customers, industries, and economic conditions within the region. Developing strategies to mitigate risks and improve credit quality.

  • Portfolio Management: Managing the regional credit portfolio, including monitoring credit limits, aging receivables, and customer payment trends. Implementing strategies to optimize portfolio performance and achieve financial targets.

  • Credit Reporting and Analysis: Generating regular reports and analysis on regional credit performance, including key metrics such as aging analysis, bad debt provision, and credit utilization. Providing insights and recommendations to senior management based on credit analysis.

  • Dispute Resolution: Resolving credit-related disputes and issues with customers, sales teams, and other stakeholders. Investigating credit discrepancies, billing errors, and payment disputes, and facilitating resolution in a timely manner.

  • Compliance and Regulatory Reporting: Ensuring compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards governing credit operations. Generating required regulatory reports and disclosures for the region.

  • Training and Development: Providing training and development opportunities for credit staff within the region. Ensuring that credit team members are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their roles effectively.

  • Process Improvement: Identifying opportunities for process improvements and automation in credit operations. Implementing best practices, streamlining workflows, and leveraging technology to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Collaboration: Collaborating with other departments such as finance, sales, risk management, and legal to ensure alignment of credit policies and procedures with organizational objectives. Participating in cross-functional teams and initiatives as needed.

  • Customer Credit Reviews: Conducting periodic reviews of customer credit limits and terms based on credit performance, financial condition, and market conditions. Recommending adjustments to credit limits and terms as necessary.

  • Customer Education: Providing education and guidance to customers on credit policies, terms, and procedures. Addressing customer inquiries and concerns related to credit matters in a professional and customer-centric manner.

  • Bachelor's degree in any discipline

  • Should possess at least 4 years' experience in credit supervision.

  • Should be mature, intelligent, diligent, with strong work ethics, and able to work under pressure to meet strict deadlines.

  • Should have a track record in loan portfolio quality management and credit control for both micro and SME.
