Job Title: Recovery Officer (1 Position)

About the Role
Are you a resilient, persuasive professional who enjoys solving problems and working in the field?
Do you have a passion for debt recovery, client negotiation, and safeguarding financial performance?
Uwezo Microfinance is looking for a proactive and results-driven Recovery Officer to join our Risk & Recovery team at our Kampala Head Office.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Implement effective debt recovery strategies to manage and reduce delinquent loans
Conduct field visits to clients’ residences or businesses to demand repayment and negotiate repayment plans
Engage guarantors and co-borrowers in the recovery process
Monitor repayment behavior, identify risk patterns, and recommend appropriate action for chronic defaulters
Maintain up-to-date and accurate records of recovery efforts
Prepare and submit regular recovery performance reports
Support the Credit Team with client verification and field investigations
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Education: Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Microfinance, or a related field
Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a microfinance or banking institution, specifically in loan recovery or collections
Language: Proficiency in both Luganda and English (spoken and written)
Skills:
Strong negotiation and interpersonal communication skills
High levels of integrity, discipline, and self-motivation
Excellent problem-solving abilities and ability to work independently in the field
Age Requirement: 25 – 35 years
Remuneration & Benefits
Starting Salary: UGX 700,000 (net)
