Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the vacant post below in Kamwenge District Local Government. Application forms (PSC-Form 3,2008) to be completed in triplicate (Original handwriting) and are obtainable free from Public Service Commission or from Secretary
District Service Commissions' Office all over the country. Serving Officers should route their applications through their respective Heads of Departments. Environmental Health Management
Monitor and manage environmental health programs and initiatives within the district.
Conduct inspections and assessments of public and private facilities to ensure compliance with environmental health regulations.
Address and mitigate environmental health hazards, including water quality, air quality, waste management, and sanitation.
Regulatory Compliance
Enforce local, state, and federal environmental health regulations.
Issue permits and licenses related to environmental health activities.
Investigate complaints and incidents related to environmental health and take appropriate enforcement actions.
Community Outreach and Education
Develop and implement community education programs on environmental health issues.
Provide information and guidance to the public on environmental health practices and regulations.
Collaborate with community organizations, schools, and other stakeholders to promote environmental health awareness.
Data Collection and Reporting
Collect, analyze, and report data on environmental health conditions and trends.
Maintain accurate records of inspections, violations, and enforcement actions.
Prepare reports and presentations for district health officials, government agencies, and the public.
Program Development and Evaluation
Develop and implement strategies and programs to address environmental health concerns.
Evaluate the effectiveness of environmental health programs and make recommendations for improvement.
Secure funding and resources for environmental health initiatives.

Educational Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree in environmental health, public health, environmental science, or a related field.
Advanced degrees (e.g., MPH, MS) may be preferred or required for some positions.
Professional Experience
Relevant work experience in environmental health, public health, or a related field.
Experience in conducting inspections, regulatory compliance, and community outreach.
Supervisory or management experience may be advantageous.
Certifications and Licenses
Certification as a Registered Environmental Health Specialist (REHS) or equivalent may be required.
Other relevant certifications (e.g., Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER), Certified Public Health (CPH)) may be beneficial.
Skills and Competencies
Strong knowledge of environmental health principles, regulations, and best practices.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to analyze data, prepare reports, and present findings.
