Quantity Surveyor (Civil) Company: PILLARS Location: Kampala, Central Region, Uganda Contract Details: Full-time PILLARS, a leading construction company in Uganda, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Quantity Surveyor (Civil) to join our team in Kampala. As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing all costs relating to building and civil engineering projects, from the initial calculations to the final figures. You will be working closely with our project managers and other team members to ensure that projects are completed within budget and to the highest quality standards. Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and analyze costings for tenders and contracts
Manage project budgets and track costs throughout the construction process
Conduct feasibility studies to estimate materials, time, and labor costs
Prepare tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities
Evaluate and negotiate variations and change orders in contracts
Monitor and control project costs to ensure they stay within budget
Prepare and submit progress reports to clients and stakeholders
Identify potential cost-saving measures and suggest alternatives to improve efficiency
Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to negotiate prices and terms
Attend site visits and inspections to monitor progress and identify any potential issues
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and quality standards
Maintain accurate records of all costs and quantities for future reference
Provide support and guidance to junior quantity surveyors and other team members as needed

Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field
Minimum of 5 years of experience in quantity surveying, preferably in the construction industry
Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and legal regulations
Excellent mathematical and analytical skills
Proficient in using quantity surveying software and Microsoft Office
Strong communication and negotiation skills
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
