About Us:
Coca-Cola Beverages Africa (CCBA) is the largest Coca-Cola bottler in Africa, producing 40% of all Coca-Cola volumes on the continent. In Uganda, we are seeking a Quality Controller to join our team at the Namanve Plant, reporting directly to the Team Leader – Packaging.
Key Purpose:
The Quality Controller ensures that all products and processes meet Coca-Cola’s high-quality standards through accurate testing, monitoring, and corrective actions, maintaining product integrity, food safety, and operational excellence.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Inspect all incoming raw and packaging materials.
Ensure laboratory equipment is properly calibrated and maintained.
Prepare and standardize laboratory reagents.
Report equipment status to the Quality Assurance Team (QAT).
Conduct validation tests on products and packaging as assigned.
Communicate non-conformances to the Line Team Leader, QAQC, QAT, and SHEQ Manager; isolate non-conforming materials.
Adhere to QMS policies, SOPs, work instructions, and safe working procedures.
Apply Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) in lab and production environments.
Support food safety management system implementation.
Report food safety, defense, and fraud issues to the SHEQ Manager.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Bachelor’s degree in Food Science & Technology, Industrial Chemistry, Biotechnology, Analytical Chemistry, or related fields.
Minimum 2 years of quality control experience in an FMCG environment, preferably with experience in plastic manufacturing, process monitoring, water treatment, or wastewater management.
Skills & Competencies:
Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
Knowledge of GMP and GLP standards.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
