Job Description

Assess the effectiveness and efficiency of control processes, procedures, and systems and recommend improvements or enhancements as needed. They implement quality assurance measures to ensure that controls are functioning as intended and delivering the desired outcomes.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Monitoring and Oversight: Control personnel are responsible for monitoring and overseeing operational activities, processes, and transactions to ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and regulations. They conduct regular reviews, assessments, and audits to identify control deficiencies, risks, and issues.

  • Risk Identification and Assessment: Control personnel identify and assess risks associated with business operations, processes, and systems. They analyze potential risks, vulnerabilities, and threats to determine their likelihood and impact on the organization and develop strategies to mitigate and manage them effectively.

  • Internal Controls Implementation: Control personnel design, implement, and maintain internal control frameworks, systems, and procedures to safeguard assets, prevent fraud, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. They establish control objectives, standards, and guidelines to guide control activities across the organization.

  • Compliance Monitoring: Control personnel monitor compliance with laws, regulations, and industry standards applicable to the organization's operations. They ensure that business activities adhere to legal and regulatory requirements, ethical standards, and industry best practices.

  • Quality Assurance and Improvement: Control personnel assess the effectiveness and efficiency of control processes, procedures, and systems and recommend improvements or enhancements as needed. They implement quality assurance measures to ensure that controls are functioning as intended and delivering the desired outcomes.

  • Incident Investigation and Resolution: Control personnel investigate incidents, breaches, or deviations from established controls, policies, or procedures. They analyze root causes, gather evidence, and develop corrective action plans to address deficiencies and prevent recurrence.

  • Training and Awareness: Control personnel provide training, guidance, and support to employees on control-related matters, including policies, procedures, and best practices. They promote awareness of control requirements, responsibilities, and expectations to foster a culture of compliance and accountability.

  • Reporting and Communication: Control personnel prepare and communicate reports, findings, and recommendations to senior management, audit committees, and other stakeholders. They provide regular updates on control activities, compliance status, and emerging risks to facilitate informed decision-making and risk management.

  • Collaboration and Coordination: Control personnel collaborate with various stakeholders, including business units, risk management, internal audit, and external auditors, to align control activities with organizational objectives and priorities. They coordinate efforts to address control gaps, implement corrective actions, and enhance controls across the organization.

  • Documentation and Documentation Management: Control personnel maintain accurate documentation, records, and evidence related to control activities, assessments, and reviews. They ensure that documentation is complete, up-to-date, and easily accessible for audit, compliance, and reporting purposes.

Qualifications and Competencies

  • Bachelor's Degree In Food Science Technology Or Its' Equivalent From A Reputable University.
