Job Description
The Quality Control Officer – Medical Diagnostic Devices plays a critical role in verifying the quality, safety, and efficacy of IVD products by conducting analytical testing, reviewing documentation, and maintaining rigorous control over laboratory processes. This role involves performing physical, chemical, and functional tests, as well as environmental monitoring and calibration oversight. The officer will work collaboratively with QA, regulatory, and production teams to ensure audit readiness and regulatory compliance with ISO 13485 and cGMP standards. Additionally, the officer will contribute to validation activities and ensure all lab work adheres to data integrity principles and Good Laboratory Practices.

Perform quality control testing on raw materials, intermediates, and finished IVD products
Conduct functional verification of diagnostic kits, including lateral flow and reagent tests
Review QC documentation such as CoAs, inspection reports, and test checklists
Perform environmental monitoring of cleanrooms and other critical production areas
Ensure calibration and correct functioning of laboratory equipment and reference standards
Accurately document all test results in lab notebooks, LIMS, or equivalent systems
Investigate and document out-of-specification (OOS) results and support CAPA processes
Assist in validation of analytical methods and instrument qualification
Support internal and external audits by maintaining compliance with ISO 13485 and GLP
Follow cleanroom gowning procedures and laboratory safety protocols
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Sciences, Industrial Chemistry, Medical Laboratory Technology, Biochemistry, or a related scientific field
Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in a regulated quality control or diagnostic laboratory setting
In-depth knowledge of ISO 13485, cGMP, and quality testing requirements for medical diagnostics
Experience with lateral flow devices, reagents, and ELISA-based diagnostics is an advantage
Familiarity with LIMS or equivalent documentation systems
Strong attention to detail, data integrity awareness, and documentation skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments
Good understanding of cleanroom procedures and environmental monitoring
