Job Description
The Projects Costing Engineer will be responsible for coordinating various aspects of project costing and management, including tender preparation, budget oversight, compliance with standards, stakeholder communication, and successful project execution.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Actively participate in tender bids and proposal preparation.
Estimate quantities, costs, and timeframes for materials and labor.
Prepare tender and contract documents.
Negotiate contracts and identify commercial risks.
Manage budgets, oversee payments, and value completed work.
Ensure projects meet legal, health, and safety standards.
Submit regular budget and project status reports.
Coordinate and review project schedules to accomplish objectives.
Enforce company policies and procedures.
Interact with clients to understand and interpret their needs.
Perform quality control on budgets, schedules, and personnel performance.
Communicate with and manage all project stakeholders.
Successfully execute projects from inception to commissioning, ensuring customer satisfaction and quality.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
A Bachelor’s Degree with Upper 2nd class honors in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
Quantity Surveying Certification.
At least two years of work experience in quantity surveying with a reputable organization.
Proven sales record and excellent customer service skills.
Strong organizational, time management, leadership, and decision-making skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Knowledge of applicable codes, policies, standards, and best practices.
Ability to manage multiple discipline projects effectively.
