Job Description
The Project Manager is responsible for coordinating and overseeing all construction and industrial related projects from initiation to completion. The role involves full accountability for project scope budget planning and execution including the management of subcontractors and suppliers. The Project Manager ensures projects are delivered on time within budget and to the required quality safety and performance standards. Any assignment with a defined start and finish may fall under this role.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
- Define and scope all assigned projects in line with business objectives
- Develop capital expenditure applications and provide project justification
- Interpret and implement design technical specifications and engineering requirements from concept through detailed design to enable preparation of requests for quotation
- Ensure final approved designs are implemented during the build phase and that any major changes affecting cost quality time or outputs are formally documented and approved through the project management system
- Review and approve packaging specifications included in original equipment manufacturer equipment supply
- Participate in technical supplier evaluations and adjudications to ensure selected contractors meet operational performance usage and safety requirements
- Support the implementation team after supplier appointment to ensure effective process integration among contractors
- Review and optimise plant layouts in collaboration with stakeholders to achieve lowest cost installation and efficient operation of process and packaging equipment
- Apply value engineering principles during design reviews to improve cost effectiveness and performance
- Participate or arrange participation of qualified personnel in factory acceptance tests hazard and operability studies and quality assurance activities
- Maintain regular updates to project development trackers
- Prepare and submit routine project status reports
