Job Description

The Clinical Trials Center of Excellence (CTCoE) project aims to establish a robust clinical research infrastructure in Rwanda through collaborations with the University of Global Health Equity (UGHE), King Faisal Hospital Rwanda (KFH), Karolinska Institutet (KI), and the International Vaccine Institute (IVI).

The Project Coordinator will work under the Project Manager to ensure smooth implementation of all project activities. This includes coordinating administrative, logistical, and communication functions, supporting infrastructure upgrades, managing documentation, organizing meetings, and monitoring project progress. The Coordinator will also liaise with partners, training teams, and regulatory bodies to support Rwanda’s goal of becoming a regional hub for clinical research.

How to Apply

  • Support the Project Manager in implementing infrastructure upgrades and managing procurement logistics.

  • Coordinate training workshops, CPD sessions, and mentorship programs.

  • Track project deliverables, including certifications, trainee progress, and regulatory milestones.

  • Maintain accurate records, filing systems, and project documentation.

  • Manage IRB submission logistics and communication with the Rwanda FDA and related agencies.

  • Schedule, organize, and document meetings for Executive and Scientific Committees.

  • Facilitate communication with ethics and community engagement teams.

  • Prepare and submit weekly and monthly reports for management and donors.

  • Perform other related project support duties as assigned.

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Health Sciences, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).

  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in research coordination, program support, or project administration.

  • Knowledge: Understanding of clinical trials, health research, or global health programs is an advantage.

  • Skills:

    • Excellent organizational, communication, and multitasking abilities.

    • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.

    • Keen attention to detail and accuracy.

    • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, Google Workspace, and project management software.

  • Languages: Fluency in English and Kinyarwanda; knowledge of French is an added advantage.
