The main purpose of the job holder is to provide support to the National Alliance Project Manager in the implementation of a project on strategic media engagement for communication and advocacy on diabetes and other Non -Communicable Diseases; NCDs organize outreaches on Diabetes and other NCDs in Schools and workplaces, engage stakeholders, partners and Performing Artists on NCDs. The main work of this role will rotate around, Identifying, mobilizing, coordinating, organizing partners and managing events and activities of the WDF Project with focus on UNCDA Vision and Mission. The job holder will ensure monthly media content is developed and shared and run s on various media platforms including Mass media and social media.

Support the Alliance Project Manager to organize project workshops, including mobilization of participants, documenting outcomes and following up action points
Support the Alliance PM in recruitment of project partners such as media personnel, Performing Artists, Schools: Students and teachers, Health care providers at PHC facilities, Ministry of Health, and other relevant NCD CSOs, CBOs, FBOs etc.
Support the PM to ensure partnership agreements or MoUs with project implementation partners are completed.
Support PM in research related aspects of the project and M&E
Liaise with media contact persons/health reporters to coordinate monthly review meetings and development of NCD media content.
Identify artists and comedians and to be recruited for the project
Support the PM and UNCDA team to identify schools for partnership on the WDF project
Support the Outreach team to organize and manage NCDs screening and sensitization campaigns
Monitor, compile and track media outputs (radio, TV, newspaper) for statistical and monthly reporting
Posting and sharing media stories, info graphics, and project short videos on social media and ensuring the same are posted on National Alliance website and EANCDA website
Monitor national level NCD activities that can be converte d into media content
Prepare briefs about the project for the PM and other senior member(s) of the organization to be communicated at various fora including meetings and workshops
Prepare abstracts and PP presentations about the project for various audiences including conferences at local, regional and international scene

Excellent communication and interpersonal relations
Proactive attitude – able to contribute to exploring ways of improving effectiveness of project
Excellent computer skills are a must due to online work involved and the need to coordinate across various stakeholders in and out of the country.
Organized and able to plan and prioritize work
Efficient with keen attention to detail
Excellent command o f English language, spoken and written
Willingness to work flexible hours when required to meet work demands
Qualifications
Preferably degree holder in social sciences, arts, project management, public Health, journalism, mass communication etc.
Additional qualification in Project planning, Monitoring and Evaluation is an asset
