Job Description
The Production Officer – Encapsulation is responsible for operating and supervising the encapsulation of pharmaceutical products using automatic or semi-automatic machines. Key responsibilities include monitoring fill weights, ensuring capsule locking, overseeing cleaning and changeover procedures, and maintaining accurate documentation in line with SOPs and batch manufacturing records. The officer will coordinate with Quality Assurance, Maintenance, and Validation teams to ensure process validation, equipment readiness, and production timelines. The role requires in-depth technical knowledge of encapsulation, compliance with safety and quality standards, and the ability to lead and guide encapsulation operators.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Supervise the encapsulation process according to approved BMRs and SOPs.
Operate and monitor capsule filling and polishing equipment.
Ensure correct fill weights, capsule locking, and visual integrity.
Conduct and record in-process checks such as weight variation and capsule inspection.
Maintain and update documentation including logbooks, cleaning and deviation records.
Oversee equipment cleaning, changeover, and sanitization.
Liaise with maintenance and engineering teams for equipment servicing.
Work with QA and validation teams on deviations, CAPA, and validations.
Train and supervise operators, ensuring adherence to GMP and safety standards.
Uphold housekeeping standards and data integrity within the production area.

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Bachelor’s Degree or Higher Diploma in Pharmacy, Industrial Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline.
Experience and Competencies:
3–4 years of relevant experience in capsule manufacturing under GMP standards.
Proficiency with encapsulation machines (e.g., Bosch, Sejong).
Deep understanding of capsule production quality control and troubleshooting.
Knowledge of capsule defects and their causes.
Familiarity with cleaning validation and production documentation.
Ability to lead teams and enforce operational and safety protocols.
