Applications are invited from suitably qualified Ugandans to fill the following vacancy in Yumbe District Local Government. Applications on PSC Form 3 (revised 2008) in triplicate, together with 3 recent coloured passport size photos copies of academic documents (transcripts and Certificates), National Identity Cards, Registration Certificate and other relevant documents should reach the Secretary, District Service Commission Yumbe, P.O. Box 1, Yumbe not later than 5th April 2024 (5:00 pm).

Hand written applications accompanied with curriculum vitae and all the above requirements can also be accepted. PSC Form 3 can be obtained from the Secretary DSC Yumbe, or any nearby District, or Public Service Commission, Kampala.

  • Loading and Unloading: Porters are responsible for loading and unloading goods, luggage, or other items onto and off of vehicles, conveyor belts, or storage areas.

  • Transportation: They may transport items within a facility, such as a hotel, airport, or hospital, using carts, dollies, or other equipment.

  • Assistance: Porters may assist customers or clients with moving their belongings, providing directions, or answering questions about facilities or services.

  • Cleaning and Maintenance: Depending on the setting, porters may be responsible for cleaning and maintaining public areas, restocking supplies, or performing minor repairs.

  • Organization: They may help organize storage areas, inventory, or equipment to ensure that items are easily accessible and properly stored.

  • Security: Porters may be tasked with monitoring areas for security purposes, reporting any suspicious activity or safety hazards to supervisors.

  • Special Events: During special events or functions, porters may assist with setting up or rearranging furniture, decorations, or equipment as needed.

  • Compliance: Porters should adhere to workplace policies, procedures, and safety regulations at all times to ensure a safe and efficient working environment.

  • Documentation: They may be required to maintain records of items moved, tasks completed, or incidents reported during their shift.
