Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities
Luggage Handling: Assisting guests, visitors, or patients with the handling and transportation of luggage, bags, or personal belongings. This may include loading and unloading luggage from vehicles, transporting it to designated areas, and providing assistance with carrying or moving heavy items.
Transportation Assistance: Providing transportation assistance to individuals who require mobility support, such as elderly or disabled persons, by pushing wheelchairs, escorting them to their destinations, or arranging for transportation services.
Customer Service: Offering courteous and helpful assistance to guests, visitors, or customers by providing directions, answering questions, and offering information about facilities, services, or amenities available on-site.
Security Assistance: Monitoring entrances and exits, ensuring the safety and security of premises, and reporting any suspicious activities or security concerns to appropriate personnel or authorities.
Cleaning and Maintenance: Performing basic cleaning and maintenance tasks, such as sweeping floors, emptying trash bins, wiping surfaces, and maintaining cleanliness in common areas to ensure a safe and hygienic environment.
Room Set-Up: Assisting with setting up meeting rooms, conference halls, or event spaces by arranging furniture, setting up equipment, and ensuring that rooms are prepared according to specified requirements.
Delivery Services: Facilitating the delivery of packages, parcels, or supplies to designated recipients or locations within the facility, ensuring that items are delivered promptly and accurately.
Patient Support (in Healthcare Settings): Assisting patients with mobility, transportation, and other non-medical needs within a healthcare facility. This may include escorting patients to and from appointments, assisting with transfers between departments, and providing comfort and support as needed.
Emergency Response: Assisting with emergency response procedures, including evacuations, fire drills, and other safety protocols. Porters may be trained to respond to emergencies and provide assistance to individuals in distress during critical situations.
Team Collaboration: Collaborating with other staff members, including security personnel, receptionists, housekeeping staff, and facility managers, to ensure smooth operations and provide comprehensive support to guests, visitors, or patients.
Documentation and Reporting: Maintaining accurate records of tasks performed, incidents observed, or requests received, and reporting any issues or concerns to supervisors or relevant authorities.
Physical Demands: Being physically fit and capable of lifting heavy objects, standing or walking for extended periods, and performing tasks that require physical strength and endurance.
