Mayuge District was established by an act of parliament in 2000 and it’s located in the eastern region of Uganda. The headquarters are situated in Mayuge Town council 120km from Kampala the capital city and 40km from Jinja. It’s bordered by Iganga in the north Jinja in the west, Bugiri in the east and Lake Victoria in the south which is shared by Mukono, district, Bugiri, Mayuge itself and Jinja city.

Applications are invited from suitable qualified persons to fill the underlisted vacant post that exist in the service of Mayuge District Local Government. Applications should be submitted in Triplicate on PSC 3(Revised 2008) to the Secretary District Service Commission PO Box 1317 MAYUGE not later than four weeks from the date of this advertisement.
Application forms can be obtained from Public Service Commission Office 2nd floor Farmers' parliamentary Avenue Kampala and/ or any of the District Service Commission Offices and MUST be filled in the applicants own handwriting with three (3) passport size photographs attached. Serving officers should route their applications through their supervisors who should be informed of the closing date to avoid any unnecessary delay.
Loading and unloading luggage, equipment and other items from vehicles and transporting them to the designated areas within the premises.
Assisting guests and visitors with directions, information and any special requests they may have.
Maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of the lobby, corridors, elevators and other common areas.
Performing minor repairs and maintenance tasks as needed or reporting them to the supervisor.
Adhering to the health and safety policies and procedures of the organization.

The qualifications for the Porter job are:
A minimum of O-level education or equivalent.
A valid driving license and experience in driving manual vehicles.
A good command of English and Luganda languages.
A friendly, courteous and helpful attitude towards customers and colleagues.
A willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
