Job Description
The Plumbing Technician will perform a variety of tasks related to water systems and sanitation infrastructure. These include installation of pipes and fixtures, diagnosing and repairing faults, ensuring compliance with plumbing codes, and providing timely responses to service requests. The role involves hands-on technical work and regular interaction with clients or residents.

Read and interpret blueprints to determine plumbing system layout and installation plans
Install, repair, and maintain pipes, valves, fittings, drainage systems, and fixtures
Assemble, weld, and secure piping systems
Inspect and test plumbing systems for leaks, safety, and functionality
Troubleshoot and resolve plumbing issues such as blockages and leaks
Respond to emergency plumbing situations and service requests
Estimate time and cost of plumbing jobs and prepare necessary reports
Ensure compliance with local plumbing codes and health and safety standards
Maintain records of installations and repairs
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Education:
Advanced Diploma in PlumbingOR
Bachelor’s Degree in Plumbing
Experience:
No prior experience required (entry-level position; training may be provided)
Technical Skills:
Understanding of water allocation principles
Proficiency in blueprint reading
Skills in pipefitting, welding, and system installation
Soft Skills:
Strong problem-solving abilities
Good time management and organizational skills
Effective verbal and written communication
Customer service orientation
Basic computer literacy
Language Proficiency:
Fluency in Kinyarwanda and English (required)
Knowledge of French or Swahili is an added advantage
Behavioral Competencies:
Analytical and quality control skills
Ability to work under pressure and in physically demanding conditions
