Job Description

Serve as a liaison between the local government and the community, representing the interests and concerns of parish residents to higher levels of government and advocating for resources and services.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Administrative Oversight: Provide administrative leadership and oversight within the parish, ensuring that local government policies and programs are effectively implemented.

  • Community Engagement: Serve as a liaison between the local government and the community, representing the interests and concerns of parish residents to higher levels of government and advocating for resources and services.

  • Service Delivery: Facilitate the delivery of essential services to parish residents, including education, healthcare, infrastructure development, and social welfare programs.

  • Local Governance: Organize and facilitate meetings of the parish council or local assembly, where community members can participate in decision-making processes and voice their opinions on local issues.

  • Public Safety: Collaborate with law enforcement agencies and community organizations to maintain public safety and order within the parish, including responding to emergencies and addressing security concerns.

  • Resource Management: Manage parish resources, including finances, infrastructure, and human capital, in a transparent and accountable manner, ensuring that resources are allocated efficiently and used effectively to meet community needs.

  • Conflict Resolution: Mediate disputes and conflicts within the community, working to find mutually acceptable solutions and promote peace and harmony among residents.

  • Community Development: Support initiatives for community development and improvement, such as small-scale infrastructure projects, environmental conservation efforts, and economic development programs.

  • Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate records and documentation related to parish governance, including meeting minutes, financial records, land ownership records, and other administrative documents.
