Established in 2002 and headquartered in The Hague, Netherlands, the International Criminal Court (ICC) serves as the world's first permanent international tribunal, dedicated to prosecuting individuals for the gravest offenses of international concern, including genocide, crimes against humanity, war crimes, and, since 2017, the crime of aggression.

Operating under the Rome Statute, the ICC complements national judicial systems by intervening when states are unwilling or unable to prosecute such crimes. The Court has earned recognition for its pivotal role in international justice, issuing arrest warrants for high-profile figures, including current investigations involving leaders from Russia and Israel. With a diverse staff representing over 100 nationalities, the ICC fosters a work culture emphasizing impartiality, integrity, and excellence, offering employees opportunities to contribute to global justice initiatives.

Its innovative business model integrates legal proceedings with outreach and victim support programs, aiming to deter future atrocities and promote accountability. As of 2025, the ICC has 125 member states, reflecting its broad international reach and influence. Guided by core values of independence, fairness, and integrity, the Court also engages in corporate social responsibility efforts, including public information campaigns and partnerships with civil society organizations to enhance global awareness of international criminal law.
