Job Description
The role will provide strategic leadership and operational control of the branch, ensuring smooth day-to-day restaurant operations including planning, staffing, training, cost control, customer experience, and hygiene compliance. The Operations Lead will supervise staff performance, oversee guest service delivery, implement SOPs, handle cash management, conduct audits, review financial reports, and maintain a clean and safe working environment. The role also includes monitoring food quality, resolving staff and customer issues, ensuring adherence to company policies, and leading continuous improvement initiatives.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Lead branch operations to meet sales, service, and cost targets
Ensure compliance with company policies, SOPs, and food safety standards
Supervise and train employees to deliver excellent service
Conduct regular service quality, hygiene, and sanitation audits
Review P&L reports and operational data to improve efficiency and reduce costs
Manage cash handling and reconciliation processes
Address and resolve customer complaints professionally
Conduct staff performance reviews and implement coaching programs
Plan and manage staff schedules and shift allocations
Lead branch meetings and promote a high-performance culture
Monitor food quality, taste, and presentation through routine sampling
Handle personnel issues and enforce disciplinary actions where necessary
Maintain a clean, safe, and conducive working environment
Respond to guest feedback and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Academic Requirements
Degree or Diploma in Food & Beverage Service or related field
Experience
Minimum 2 years’ experience in operations or food and beverage service industry
Skills & Competencies
Strong communication skills (English & Kiswahili)
Knowledge of customer service and people management systems
Ability to analyze P&L and operational reports
Computer literacy (MS Office Suite)
Experience with POS systems and cash management
Leadership, team development, and mentorship skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving capability
Ability to work under pressure and make sound decisions
High integrity, work ethic, and professional etiquette
Ability to coordinate multiple functions and tasks
Result-oriented, proactive, and self-driven
