Job Description
This position involves reviewing and processing loan documentation such as offer letters and terms of reference in line with approved credit terms. The officer will coordinate with legal departments for security documentation, ensure compliance with all credit conditions before disbursements, and track exceptions and collateral status. The role also includes updating collateral records, facilitating loan releases, supporting annual reviews, addressing customer and branch inquiries, and conducting internal compliance checks. The officer will work closely with credit operations and business units to ensure accurate and efficient credit administration.

How to Apply
Review and process offer letters and terms of reference as per credit approvals
Coordinate with legal for security document preparation and perfection
Ensure all conditions precedent are fulfilled prior to loan booking
Assist in reviewing drawdown memos for compliance
Monitor exceptions and ensure timely closure of outstanding documentation
Oversee timely payments of land rent and insurance renewal for collateral properties
Test financial covenants based on approved frequencies and thresholds
Monitor portfolio status and notify business units on facilities due for renewal
Identify deteriorating credit accounts and initiate early remedial actions
Update collateral information accurately in the Collateral Management Tool (CMT)
Facilitate collateral discharge for fully repaid loans
Conduct annual credit reviews as assigned
Maintain thorough records for all loan transactions
Respond to branch and customer inquiries in a timely manner
Stay updated on relevant industry regulations and best practices
Perform internal audits and compliance checks
Undertake any other duties as assigned by senior management
Bachelor’s Degree in Banking, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Commerce, Law, Economics, or a related field
Minimum of 1 year working experience in banking, preferably in credit functions
Strong knowledge of banking, credit procedures, and regulatory compliance
Solid understanding of corporate lending and loan documentation
Familiarity with business and land law principles
High attention to detail
Good communication and organizational skills
