Office Maintenance: Clean and maintain office premises, including common areas, workstations, restrooms, and kitchen facilities. Ensure cleanliness, hygiene, and tidiness by dusting, sweeping, mopping, and sanitizing surfaces.
Supply Management: Monitor and replenish office supplies such as stationery, paper, ink cartridges, and cleaning supplies. Place orders, receive deliveries, and distribute supplies to designated areas as needed.
Mail Handling: Sort incoming mail, packages, and deliveries. Distribute mail to appropriate recipients and assist with outgoing mail preparation, including postage, packaging, and courier arrangements.
Meeting Support: Set up meeting rooms, conference rooms, and event spaces for meetings, presentations, or workshops. Arrange seating, audiovisual equipment, and catering services as requested.
Document Management: Assist with document handling, filing, and organization. File documents alphabetically, numerically, or by category. Retrieve and distribute documents upon request.
Visitor Assistance: Greet visitors, clients, and guests in a courteous and professional manner. Provide directions, assistance, and escort services as needed. Notify employees of visitor arrivals and maintain visitor logs.
Telephone and Reception Duties: Answer incoming calls, screen and direct calls to appropriate personnel. Take messages, relay information, and provide basic information to callers. Assist with reception duties as needed.
Assist with Administrative Tasks: Assist administrative staff with tasks such as photocopying, scanning, data entry, and filing. Provide support for office projects, presentations, and administrative duties as requested.
Security and Safety: Monitor office premises for security and safety hazards. Report suspicious activities, safety concerns, or maintenance issues to appropriate personnel. Follow security protocols and emergency procedures.
Customer Service: Provide courteous and helpful assistance to employees, clients, and visitors. Respond to inquiries, requests, and complaints in a timely and professional manner. Maintain a positive and welcoming atmosphere.

Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is typically required. Additional education or training in office administration, customer service, or related fields may be beneficial.
Experience: Previous experience in office support, custodial services, or customer service is often preferred, but not always required. On-the-job training may be provided by employers.
Physical Fitness: Possess good physical stamina and mobility to perform cleaning and maintenance tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods. Ability to operate cleaning equipment safely.
Communication Skills: Effective verbal communication skills to interact with coworkers, supervisors, and visitors. Ability to follow instructions, relay information accurately, and communicate professionally.
Attention to Detail: Attention to detail in performing cleaning tasks, organizing supplies, and handling documents. Ability to recognize and address cleanliness, hygiene, and maintenance issues promptly.
Reliability and Dependability: Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, and attendance. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and follow established procedures and schedules.
Interpersonal Skills: Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with others in a team environment. Friendly demeanor, positive attitude, and willingness to assist others.
Adaptability: Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities, tasks, and work assignments. Willingness to learn new skills and take on additional responsibilities as needed.

Applications are invited from suitably qualified Ugandans to fill the following posts which exist in Apac District Local Government and Apac Municipal Council.
Applications should be submitted in triplicates filled in own hand writing on Public Service Commission Form 3 (Revised 2008) to the Secretary, District Service Commission, P.O. Box 1, Apac . Serving Officers should route their applications through their Heads of Departments or responsible officers for endorsement who should be informed of the closing date to avoid delay.
