How to Apply
Responsibilities:
Provide immediate care for injuries and illnesses that occur during school hours.
Administer medications to students as prescribed by their healthcare providers and maintain accurate records.
Respond promptly to medical emergencies, providing necessary care and coordinating with the parents, school administration and emergency services when needed.
Maintain up-to-date health records for all students, including documentation of treatments and medications administered.
Educate students and staff on basic health practices, including hygiene and disease prevention.
Work with teachers, counsellors, and other staff to support student health and well-being.
Ensure compliance with government health regulations and school policies.
The applicant for the role should hold at least a Diploma in Nursing from a reputable institution.
Must be a registered Nurse with the Uganda Nurses and Midwives Council.
At least two years’ experience in nursing in a school setting.
Have a valid/ current up-to-date practising license.
Good interpersonal skills and ability to relate well to children, parents and guardians.
Knowledge of basic computer software.
Passionate about community health care with the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
Have excellent organizational and communication skills.
Commitment to working within standardized guidelines of Nursing care.
