Monitoring and Evaluation job at Fort Portal City Service Commission

Fort Portal City Service Commission

Collect, analyze, and interpret quantitative and qualitative data using various methods and tools, such as surveys, interviews, focus groups, observation, and statistical analysis, to assess program performance, identify trends, and inform decision-making.

  • Designing M&E Frameworks: Develop monitoring and evaluation frameworks, plans, and systems to track progress, measure outcomes, and assess the performance of programs and projects, including defining indicators, data collection methods, and reporting mechanisms.

  • Data Collection and Analysis: Collect, analyze, and interpret quantitative and qualitative data using various methods and tools, such as surveys, interviews, focus groups, observation, and statistical analysis, to assess program performance, identify trends, and inform decision-making.

  • Performance Monitoring: Monitor and track program activities, outputs, and outcomes against established targets and benchmarks, identifying deviations, challenges, and opportunities for improvement, and providing regular updates to stakeholders.

  • Impact Evaluation: Conduct impact evaluations and assessments to measure the long-term effects and broader impacts of programs and interventions on beneficiaries, communities, and target populations, using rigorous research methodologies and evaluation designs.

  • Quality Assurance: Ensure the quality, reliability, and validity of data collected and analyzed for monitoring and evaluation purposes, through rigorous data verification, validation, and quality assurance processes, and adherence to ethical standards and best practices.

  • Reporting and Documentation: Prepare and present clear, concise, and actionable reports, dashboards, and visualizations summarizing M&E findings, trends, and insights for diverse audiences, including program managers, funders, policymakers, and other stakeholders.

  • Capacity Building: Provide training, technical assistance, and capacity-building support to program staff, partners, and stakeholders on monitoring and evaluation methodologies, tools, and techniques, promoting a culture of evidence-based decision-making and learning.

  • Learning and Knowledge Management: Facilitate learning and knowledge-sharing activities, workshops, and forums to disseminate M&E findings, lessons learned, and best practices, fostering organizational learning and continuous improvement.

  • Education: A bachelor's or master's degree in monitoring and evaluation, public policy, international development, social sciences, or a related field is typically required for M&E specialist positions.   • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential for M&E specialists to communicate complex technical information, M&E findings, and recommendations to diverse audiences, including non-technical stakeholders.
