Coca-Cola Beverages Africa /CCBA is the largest African Coca-Cola bottler, accounting for 40% of all Coca-Cola volumes on the continent. Coca-Cola Beverages Uganda /CCBU is a subsidiary of CCBA, and we are currently seeking to recruit a Microbiologist
based in Kampala.
As a Microbiologist, you will report directly to the Quality Assurance Technologist
Opening the Microbiological lab according to the work instructions and adhering to GLPs.
Carrying out the microbial sampling as described in the quality control plan.
Performing housekeeping tasks, applying 5s principles and following safe work practices.
Identifying and correcting unsafe work practices.
Training fellow employees on hygiene requirements.
Participating in problem solving to drive process improvement for identified microbial exposures.
Carrying out routine Microbial lab equipment inspections and consumables stock take and reporting to supervisor.
Participating and carrying out microbial lab proficiency testing as per defined frequency.
Participating in HSE, Quality and Food Safety Management system meetings as an SME.
Reporting food safety, defense and fraud related issues to food safety team leader designate (SHEQ manager)
Any other duties assigned by Supervisor/manager
Minimum requirement: BSc. Degree in Food Science, Biology, industrial chemistry, or Microbiology
Added advantage: Specialized training as a Microbiologist.
Experience
At least 2 years in an FMCG Industry

Quality control practices and principles
Bottling principles and processes
Product handling knowledge
Computer knowledge
Understanding of SHEQ policies and procedure
