Medical Officers job at Buyende District Local Government

Applications are invited from suitably qualified Ugandans to fill the under listed vacant position in Buyende District Local Government.
Applications should be submitted in triplicate in Public Service Commission Form No.3 (2008) from Secretary District Service Commission Buyende, PO Box 87, Kamuli not later than 22nd February, 2024. Application forms can be obtained from The Public Service Commission Offices situated on 2nd floor Farmers House, Kampala and District Service Commission Offices all over the country.
Applications should bear the title of the post and reference number. Applicants should attach three sets of certified photo of their academic certificates and transcripts with detailed CV, National Identity Card plus three passport size photographs where applicable registration certificates and annual practicing licenses and also be attached. Serving officers should route their applications through Responsible Officer should be informed of the closing date to avoid late submission.

To diagnose, treat and manage patients with common diseases and conditions, such as malaria, pneumonia, diarrhea, HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, etc.
To perform minor surgical procedures, such as suturing, wound dressing, circumcision, etc.
To supervise and mentor other health workers, such as nurses, midwives, clinical officers, etc.
To participate in health promotion and disease prevention activities, such as immunization, antenatal care, family planning, etc.
To ensure proper record keeping and reporting of health data and statistics
To liaise with other stakeholders and partners in the health sector, such as the district health team, NGOs, community leaders, etc.
The minimum qualifications for the Medical Officer are:
A Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) degree from a recognized university
A valid registration certificate from the Uganda Medical and Dental Practitioners Council
At least two years of working experience in a public or private health facility
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work under pressure and in a team
Willingness to work in rural and hard-to-reach areas
