Job Description
The role requires strong planning, organizing, and supervisory skills to oversee mechanical operations and staff at the Barberton Fairview Mine. The incumbent will lead engineering teams to meet production targets, ensure compliance with safety regulations, and manage equipment maintenance schedules. Responsibilities also include budget management, resource planning, discipline enforcement, and HR/IR support. This position requires availability for standby duties, overtime, and work on Sundays or public holidays.

How to Apply
Plan and prioritize mechanical engineering work in collaboration with operational teams
Supervise mechanical staff and manage day-to-day engineering activities
Ensure compliance with safety regulations, codes of practice, and legal standards
Manage equipment maintenance schedules and operational performance
Support HR and IR issues within the engineering team
Prepare reports and manage engineering budgets and resources
Perform standby duties, work overtime, and be available on weekends/public holidays.
N3 Certificate or Grade 12
Qualified artisan with a Red Seal Trade Certificate (Section 13B or 26D) in Mechanical Engineering
Proven experience as a Mechanical Engineering Foreman
Valid Certificate of Physical Fitness
Proficient in English (reading, writing, and communication)
Computer literate (Excel, Word, Email)
Valid driver’s license
