Job Description
The role requires developing and executing pricing methodologies, ensuring financial sustainability through cost and pricing strategies, and structuring commercial deals to maximize business value. The incumbent will work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure pricing models align with business objectives, track actuals against budgets, and identify commercial inefficiencies while implementing strategies to optimize them.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Commercial Management
Provide strategic commercial insights based on industry best practices.
Develop and execute commercial methodologies and frameworks.
Align commercial strategies with business objectives.
Costing & Pricing Strategy
Define and implement a pricing model framework, including Discounted Cashflow analysis.
Advise on pricing methodologies and cost-benefit considerations.
Benchmark market pricing and highlight MTN Business' value proposition.
Establish a framework for annual pricing reviews and communicate necessary changes to senior management.
Capital Budgeting
Contribute to capital budgeting strategies to ensure commercial viability.
Monitor budget vs. actual performance and ensure financial commitments are met.
Commercial Deal Structuring for Clients
Develop pricing strategies tailored to different sales segments.
Define commercial structuring activities with partners.
Ensure deal structures align with business profitability goals.
Operational Planning
Align pricing objectives with broader business strategy.
Continuously refine pricing systems and processes.
Conduct competitive analysis and market research to enhance pricing strategies.
Customer Satisfaction
Ensure pricing aligns with business and customer needs.
Develop customer-centric pricing solutions.
Implement feedback mechanisms to improve service delivery.
Reporting
Provide regular reports on pricing strategies and commercial performance.
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Education
Matric
Minimum of a 3-year tertiary degree or diploma (Bachelor of Commerce, Business Administration, or equivalent)
Experience
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a specialized commercial or pricing role.
At least 2 years of experience in a managerial role within a fast-paced industry.
Proven experience in marketing and pricing.
Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial modeling.
Competencies
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
Ability to develop and implement pricing strategies.
Financial knowledge, including capital budgeting and cash flow analysis.
Commercial negotiation and deal structuring expertise.
