Job Description
The Manager – Network Security is responsible for designing and delivering technical security solutions and configurations for both MTN’s legacy systems and modern cloud environments (SaaS, PaaS, IaaS). The role will focus on securing internal networks, third-party integrations, and cloud-migrated applications, while ensuring alignment with MTN’s group-wide security policies. The position requires expertise in AI, machine learning integration into security frameworks, and strong collaboration with OPCOs and global stakeholders to maintain robust and secure networks.

How to Apply
Technical Excellence
Design cloud and legacy security architectures, ensuring integration of people, processes, and technology
Implement technical security measures for MTN’s technology stacks
Assist Operating Companies (OPCOs) with implementation of security solutions
Standardize security architecture across the MTN footprint
Evaluate security standards and integration issues
Operational Delivery
Develop and implement cloud security frameworks aligned with business risks
Oversee deployment of cloud security architecture through third-party support
Maintain compliance and continuous improvement of cloud security systems
Implement and manage Cloud Firewalls, IPS, WAFs, and network segmentation tools
Conduct security risk assessments and audits in collaboration with compliance teams
Budget and Strategy
Assist in budget forecasting and cost-reduction strategies
Manage project budgets effectively in line with organizational objectives
Collaboration and Dependencies
Coordinate with Group CTIO, Executive Information Security, and other stakeholders
Collaborate with OPCOs, key suppliers, and governance forums to drive alignment
Ensure decisions and reports are timely and strategically aligned

Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Information Science (4 years)
Master’s Degree in Information Science (Preferred)
Certifications (One or more required)
CISSP, CISM, or CCSP
MCSE: Security (Advantageous)
MCSE: Cloud Platform and Infrastructure
Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud (Advantageous)
Experience
5–8 years in IT Security, Core Network, IP Networks, or Cloud technologies
Proven experience in designing and deploying large-scale network security frameworks in telecom environments
Experience implementing proactive cybersecurity measures
Knowledge of Africa and Middle East IT infrastructure, political and social dynamics
Familiarity with the operations of a mobile network operator
Experience in cross-cultural and multinational environments
Other
Ability to travel regionally and internationally
