Job Description
The Maintenance Supervisor will be responsible for planning and managing preventive and routine maintenance of HVAC systems, refrigeration units, plumbing, and other technical installations within the hotel. The role involves enforcing compliance with fire safety, energy conservation, and life safety protocols. Working under the Chief Engineer, the supervisor will also coordinate maintenance staff and service providers, ensuring timely response to maintenance requests and maintaining high guest satisfaction.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Supervise daily operations of the maintenance department
Conduct routine and preventive maintenance on all hotel equipment and facilities
Ensure compliance with fire safety, energy efficiency, and life safety standards
Support the Chief Engineer in managing the engineering team and external contractors
Plan and execute maintenance schedules for HVAC, refrigeration, electrical, and plumbing systems
Respond promptly to maintenance issues and oversee repairs to ensure minimal disruption
Maintain accurate records of inspections, service requests, and repairs
Ensure proper usage and maintenance of tools and equipment
Assist in training technical staff to ensure a high-performance team
Participate in budgeting, planning, and procurement of maintenance-related supplies and services
Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Education:
Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering field
Technical certifications in HVAC, Electrical, or Plumbing (preferred)
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years hands-on experience in maintenance operations
At least 2 years in a supervisory role, ideally in a hospitality or hotel environment
Practical experience with plumbing systems is a strong advantage
Proficient in preventive maintenance planning and execution
Skills and Competencies:
Strong leadership and team coordination abilities
Solid understanding of building systems and technical operations
Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple prioriti
