Job Description
Job Title: Loans Officer (Fresher Jobs)
Organisation: Microfin Uganda Limited
Duty Station: Kampala, Uganda
The Loans Officer will be responsible for providing financial guidance to clients, assessing loan applications, and ensuring that disbursed loans comply with the institution’s policies and standards. This role requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to build strong relationships with clients.
Duties, Roles and Responsibilities
Loan Processing and Evaluation:
Evaluate loan applications and verify customer information to assess their financial needs and repayment capacity.
Analyze financial data, credit history, and collateral provided by clients.
Ensure compliance with the institution’s credit policies and lending guidelines.
Customer Relationship Management:
Build and maintain strong client relationships to ensure customer satisfaction.
Provide expert advice on loan products and services to meet client needs.
Loan Monitoring and Recovery:
Monitor active loan accounts and ensure timely loan repayments.
Address loan defaults by implementing effective recovery strategies.
Reporting:
Prepare and submit regular reports on loan disbursements, repayments, and portfolio performance to management.
Other Duties:
Participate in community outreach programs to create awareness of Microfin Uganda’s financial services.
Provide recommendations for product improvement based on customer feedback.

Qualifications, Education and Competencies
Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, or any related field.
Previous experience in microfinance, banking, or a similar financial institution is an added advantage.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Strong ethical conduct and commitment to professional integrity.
