How to Apply
Responsibilities:
Provide legal representation and support to NMG Uganda in its transactions and business processes.
Oversee the full digitization of the Legal department’s contract management system.
Implement the Legal department’s digital initiatives and processes.
Develop and implement a proactive legal diagnostic framework.
Continuously monitor the regulatory framework and company policies to ensure strict adherence by NMG Uganda.
Build internal legal capacity by conducting companywide trainings aimed at avoiding legal and reputational exposure.
Actively participate in the reviewing and updating of all existing company policies and origination of new ones.
Ensure that there are sufficient insurance policies to insulate the company, its staff and assets against risks and loss, and follow up on insurance claims settlement.
Ensure that the company’s intellectual property is up to date and duly registered.
Liaise with the company’s external lawyers, auditors, tax experts and other consultants on varied matters.
Carry out periodic reviews of the company’s compliance risk register.
Support the administrative function and processes of the company.
Qualifications:
Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) from a recognised institution
Post graduate diploma in legal practice
Certificate of enrolment as an advocate of the High Court of Uganda
Valid practicing certificate
Experience:
Five (5) years of post-enrolment experience as an advocate in legal practice or as in-house legal counsel.

Experience in case management, litigation and court processes.
Ability to develop and review processes and policies.
